Breast uplift or breast uplift with implants

A Breast Uplift (Mastopexy) removes excess skin to raise, reshape and firm the breast. The result is a younger and shapelier breast contour.

An Uplift is for women who are generally satisfied with the size of their breasts, but would welcome a breast uplift to raise and firm their bust. Some women are often unhappy to find that they have lost a significant amount of breast volume over the years. Implants increase breast size while, at the same time, enhancing the shape and position of the breasts.

A breast uplift (Mastopexy) could be the right choice for the following conditions:

A Breast Uplift (Mastopexy) requires a general anaesthetic. Patients should be prepared to spend one night in hospital. If the patient wishes to enlarge their breasts at the same time as they are having them lifted, breast implants can be inserted.

Recovery time

Some swelling and bruising is to be expected. Straining, bending and lifting should be avoided, and you may be advised to sleep on your back to avoid pressure on your breasts. You may also need to wear a support bra for a few weeks until the swelling subsides. Generally, stitches are removed up to two weeks post operatively or will gradually dissolve. Recovery time varies between individuals. Depending on the extent of your Mastopexy and your general physical condition, you may be able to return to non-strenuous work after 7-14 days. In many instances, the incision marks will fade away to faint lines. Fortunately, the incisions for Mastopexy are in areas easily concealed by clothing.
